FILM PERMITTING

The requirements for obtaining a film permit varies from county to county & city to city, & can be time consuming & stressful when working under tight deadlines. We’ve seen productions get shut down because they didn’t have a permit or assumed that the rules applied for neighboring cities. For example, there’s a city in Georgia that doesn’t require a permit for filming on private property, however, there’s an entire county that requires permits for any filming on private or public county, no matter which city you’re filming in within that county. This can be very confusing & can put a production in a very compromising position if you’re not working with a seasoned locations professional.
We’re here to assist the locations departments by handling some of the minor, yet important details, and allows you to focus on the Big Picture!

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS

When productions are looking to do extensive road closures or film complicated scenes, it’s necessary to have meetings with the local municipality, GDOT if you’re trying to close a State Route, or agencies such as MARTA that may have bus routes that are impacted by filming. Let 159 organize & facilitate these meetings because we have an established relationship with them & are adept with their process & procedures.

NEIGHBORHOOD NOTIFICATION LETTER

Prior to obtaining a film permit in business & residential areas, you will most likely have to submit a film notification letter with the permit application, as well as distribute the letter to the local businesses & residents impacted by the filming or closures that will take place.
